Yashwant Sinha to contest the Presidential elections
Yashwant Sinha, former Union minister, and Trinamool Congress leader, is standing as a candidate for the Presidential elections 2022.
” I am grateful to Mamataji for the honor and prestige she bestowed on me in the TMC. Now a time has come when for a larger National cause I must step aside from the party to work for greater opposition unity. I am sure she approves of the step,” said Yashwant Sinha.
While Sinha’s name has been proposed by the TMC, Congress and Left parties suggested Sinha(former BJP leader) resign from his party post to be accepted happily.
Sinha quit the BJP back in 2018 and joined the TMC last year.
