UVA shooting, accused Jones arrested 

Three football players were killed and two others injured in a shooting at the University of Virginia on Sunday night.

Campus police and university president Jim Ryan confirmed the shooting on Monday. 

Police have captured suspected shooter Christopher Darnell Jones Jr. after a manhunt that lasted more than 12 hours. 

UVA police said Jones was charged with three counts of second-degree murder and three counts of using a handgun to commit a felony. 

The shooting took place at around 10:30 pm on Sunday night. ET on a charter bus full of students returning from a field trip. 

Three young men were found dead, all of the deceased were juniors and members of the UVA football team, police said. 

The dead are wide receiver Devin Chandler from Virginia Beach; Level Davis, a wide receiver from Dorchester, S.C.; and D Sean Perry, a linebacker from Miami, Florida. 

University officials have not yet released the names of two other victims who are being treated for injuries. One of them is in critical condition.
