Govardhan Puja 2022, Let's Know Puja Date, Puja Rules and Its Importance

Govardhan Puja is celebrated in India on the day after Diwali.  In some parts, this puja is also known as Annakut. 

However, this year the Puja is not held on 25 October.  The eclipse will occur on October 25, the day after Diwali. 

Govardhana Puja is celebrated on the Shukla Paksha of the month of Kartik.  This year, the puja is performed on 26 October for the solar eclipse.

Duration- 2 hours 14 min

Pratipada Tithi Begins- Oct 25,2022 at 4-18 PM 

Pratipada Tithi Ends- Oct 26,2022 at 2-42 PM. 

Puja Method 

For Govardhan Puja, you have to make a Govardhan painting with manure in the courtyard of your house 

Then light a clay lamp, and worship with rice, kheer, batase, water, milk, betel, saffron, and flower. 

It is believed that if one worships Lord Govardhana on this day with rituals and a pure heart, one can obtain the grace of Lord Krishna throughout the year.
