'Day of our Lives' actor John Aniston dies at 89

John Aniston, the Emmy-winning star of the daytime drama "Days of Our Lives" and father of Jennifer Aniston, has died at age 89.

The entertainer's daughter posted a tribute to him Monday morning on Instagram, reporting that he had died Friday.

Jennifer Aniston wrote. "You were quite possibly of the most lovely human I ever knew. I am appreciative to such an extent that you went taking off high up in harmony — and without pain.

John Aniston's acting credits included "Search for Tomorrow," "The West Wing" and "Gilmore girls."

Yet, he was most popular for his long-running role on "Days of Our Lives" as family patriarch Victor Kiriakis, the former drug lord who happens to establish the strong Titan Ventures.

In 2017, his work on "Days of Our Lives" presented him with an Emmy nomination for best supporting actor in a drama series.

Recently, he was given a lifetime achievement Emmy, with Jennifer Aniston respecting him via video.

Aniston was married two times, most as of late to Sherry Rooney. He had two children, Jennifer and Alexander Aniston, and a stepson, John Melick.
