Asha Parekh was born on October 2, 1942, in Mumbai. His father was Bachubhai Parekh and his mother was Salma Parekh

Asha Parekh made her film debut as a child artist at the age of 10 with Bimal Roy's Maa. He then starred as a child artist in the 1954 film Baap Beti.

Asha Parekh was rejected by Vijay Bhatt for the heroine role in Goonj Uthi Shehnai at the age of 16. 

Asha Parekh made her debut as a heroine opposite Shammi Kapoor in producer Subodh Mukherjee and director Nasir Hussain's Dil Deke Dekho.

Asha Parekh also acted in Gujarati, Punjabi, and Kannada films. The Gujarati film Akhand Saubhagyavati, released in 1963, was a mega hit.

She won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her role in the 1970 film Kati Patang. Superstar Rajesh Khanna starred opposite Asha Parekh in Kati Patang.

As a leading heroine, She Formed popular on-screen pairing with actors including Dev Anand, Shammi Kapoor, and Rajesh Khanna.

Asha Parekh made her last appearance in 1981 in Kaalia. Kaalia is the only film where Asha Parekh shared the screen with Big B Amitabh Bachchan.
