US Supreme Court abolishes Abortion rights
The abolition of nationwide abortion rights by the US Supreme Court on Friday was a bombshell throughout the world, at the same time criticized by some of America’s closest allies.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the Supreme Court decision will have ‘massive impacts’ worldwide and played a pivotal role as his judicial nominations paved a way for the decision on Friday.
He said “I think it’s a big step backward. I’ve always believed in a woman’s right to choose and I stick to that view, and that’s why the UK has the laws that it does.”
Criticizing the decision the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau commented on it as “horrific.”
He tweeted “No government, politician, or man should tell a woman what she can and cannot do with her body.”
Among other few world leaders who criticized Supreme Court’s judgment was French President Emmanuel Macron and Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde.
Linde said, “Depriving women of their individual rights is a backlash against decades of hard-fought work.”
