The vice-chancellor now says the guest and program schedule were decided by the Governor’s office. As per the meeting schedule, the guest of Honor speaks after the pro-chancellor of the state university which is against the convention, “he told to the reporters.”
Also, he says” Even if it is a Union Minister, a guest of honor should speak before the pro-chancellor and chancellor. Despite our requests, the governor’s office has refused to change the schedule. It is not only a violation of convention but also shows that the Governor’s office is interfering even in the preparation of the convocation schedule the Minister said.
We think the governor is using the convocation functions to politicize and speak against the convention. As a pro-chancellor and higher education minister, I am boycotting the MKU’s convocation, Ponmudy said.
