Suspected of bomb blasts in RSS office in Kerala
A bomb was thrown at Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) office in Payyannur of Kannur district, informed the police on Tuesday.
The incident happened in the early morning hours.
The glasses of the windows were also broken in the attack. It nearly happened at 1:30 am. Nobody was injured in the attack. The number of attackers is not yet known and CCTV footage of the area was being examined to ascertain the same, police officers told PTI. Efforts are to capture the culprits. CCTV footage showed the moment when the bomb went off. Two motorcycle-borne assailants had earlier scanned the area, the CCTV had captured. The attack triggered concerns also because the RSS office is located not too far from the police station. Security has increased in the area since the incident.
RSS and BJP leaders have suspected the role of CPI(M) in the attack and sought a high-level inquiry.
An FIR under relevant provisions of the Explosives Act has been registered and the investigation was going on to trace the culprits, news agency PTI reported.
