SC grants Nupur Sharma protection from arrest till August 10

Nupur Sharma (the spokesperson of BJP) was suspended after an FIR was registered (on June 8 )after her controversial remarks on Prophet Muhammad.
She was appointed an official spokesperson for the party in Delhi and in 2020, she became a “national spokesperson” for the BJP
The Supreme Court will take up Nupur Sharma’s request that no new cases can be filed neither she will be arrested till August 10.
Delhi, Maharashtra, Telengana, West Bengal, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Assam are the states that have been asked to respond to her case. Delhi Police has provided security to suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma and her family after an FIR was registered on a complaint that she was getting death threats for her controversial religious remarks.
Therefore the Supreme Court asked various states to respond to her request to combine multiple FIRs against her into one.
Nupur Sharma’s lawyer told the Supreme Court that she had been facing increasing threats to her life since the court’s scathing order on July 1.
