Karwa Chauth 2022, How to celebrate Karwa Chauth
On the day of Karwa Chauth, women fast for the entire day like Sankashti Ganesh Chaturthi.
On the moonrise of Vyapini Chaturthi of Kartik Krishna Paksha i.e. on the night of that Chaturthi in which the moon is going to be visible, take a bath in the morning on that day and stay fast throughout the day with the resolution of the age, health and good fortune of your spouse.
Karwa Chauth is a day of worship of Shiva-Parvati, Swami Kartikeya, Ganesha, and the Moon.
For worship, an altar is built of white clay or sand, on which the deity is placed. Laddu made with Pure Ghee , flour and sugar is offered as Naivedya.
End the worship by offering a lot, a cloth, and a special karwa as Dakshina. When the moon rises in the evening, offer Arghya by worshiping the moon.
After this, feed the parents of Brahmins, married women, and husbands. Take blessings from the husband’s mother (ie your mother-in-law) by offering a lota, clothes, and special karwa as given above.
If they are not alive, then offer them to another woman like them. After this, eat yourself and other family members.

Karwa Chauth has various stories, although it is believed that the custom dates back to the time of the gods.
During the battle of the gods with the giants and demons, Brahma advised the wives of the gods to observe this fast.
Following the advice of Brahma, Indra’s wife Indrani and the wives of the other gods observed a fast without eating or drinking to wish for their husband’s long life.
According to belief, karwa chauth has been celebrated in the world ever since. And according to one belief, Mata Parvati also observed this fast to get Lord Shiva.
This fast is also mentioned in the epic Mahabharata. Gandhari observed this vow for King Dhritarashtra and Kunti for Pandu.

Decorate a plate for the sight of the moon on the fasting of Karva Chauth. Keep sweets or white sweets made of the lamp, vermilion, akshat, kumkum, roli and rice in the plate.
