Jagdeep Dhankar is selected as the NDA’s vice presidential election candidate
A parliamentary committee meeting was held on Saturday at the BJP’s head office in New Delhi for the selection of a Vice presidential candidate. Where the parliamentary committee elected Jagdeep Dhankar as the next NDA candidate for the Vice- Presidential election in 2022. J.P.Nadda the BJP president announced the name of the next vice president.
Likely, it has come heard that Jagdeep Dhankhar will be the second leader from Rajasthan if he is elected as the Vice president of India, who is currently the Governor of West Bengal. He will be the second leader from Rajasthan to reach the high office of vice president, if elected in the August 6 vice-presidential poll.
Dhankar will be the upcoming 11th vice president of the country from August 2002 to July 2007. He has the highest majority from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the electoral collages, and comprises the members of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.
He is also a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and served as the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs in the Chandra Shekhar ministry.
He completed his schooling at Sainik School, Chittorgarh, and then graduated with B.Sc and LLB from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. Dhankhar completed his primary education at Kitana Village School.
He was enrolled with the Bar Council of Rajasthan as an Advocate in 1979. He was designated as Senior Advocate by the High Court of Judicature for Rajasthan in 1990 and was the senior-most designated Senior Advocate of the state till taking the oath as Governor on 30 July 2019.
Since 1990, Dhankhar had been practicing primarily in the Supreme Court of India. He has appeared in various High Courts of India. He is also a former President of the Rajasthan High Court Bar Association, Jaipur.
He was a member of parliament from Jhunjhunu (Lok Sabha constituency) in Rajasthan during 1989–91 in the 9th Lok Sabha, representing Janata Dal. He was also a former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Kishangarh, Rajasthan during 1993–98 in the 10th Legislative Assembly Rajasthan.
On 30 July 2019, President Ram Nath Kovind appointed him as Governor of West Bengal.

On 16th July 2022, the BJP nominated Dhankhar as the National Democratic Alliance’s candidate for Vice President of India for the 2022 election the following month. He has been projected as a “Kisan Putra” (farmer’s son) by the BJP.
