In a race against time, a 10-month-old child receives life-saving treatment from the Swargdew Siu-Ka-Pha Multispecialty Hospital, BAVP in Assam

Doctors at the Swargadew Siu-Ka-Pha multispecialty Hospital, BAVP in Assam have saved the life of Anamika Robidas, a 10-month-old child suffering from severe pneumonia by providing immediate treatment at a bare minimum cost.

Anamika’s father, a daily wage worker, rushed to the Swargadew Siu-Ka-Pha multispecialty Hospital, BAVP when his child’s condition started deteriorating and he realized that time was running out. With only Rs 2500 in his pocket, he was not sure whether he would be able to save Anamika. After reaching the hospital, he consulted a team of doctors and informed them about his financial condition. Bound by the moral obligation to treat their patients, the doctors, looking at the critical condition of the toddler, without any hesitation assured her father that the hospital will treat the child with whatever money he has to offer. Anamika was quickly admitted and the staff started round-the-clock treatment under constant supervision. After 56 hours of admission, she was pulled out of the jaws of death and the hospital discharge summary reported her condition as stable.

Dr. AnantPandhare, Project Chairman-Swargadew Siu-Ka-Pha run by BAVP, said, “The child’s condition was severe when she was admitted to the hospital. As we have expertise and experience in handling such complex cases, we were able to evaluate and decide the course of treatment in time. The patient was kept under observation, and the team monitored her with multipara and SPO2 monitors. The collective efforts of our medical team played a key role in saving the child’s life. “
