Coolio, the 90s rapper who gave listeners superhits like “Gangsta’s Paradise” and “Fantastic Voyage”, has died.

The popular singer of the 1990s died in Los Angeles on Wednesday afternoon. Coolio was found at a friend’s house.

The singer was 59 years old at the time of his death.

In 1996, he was nominated for a Grammy Award for Record of the Year and Best Rap Solo Performance for “Gangsta Paradise”, where Coolio won.

Coolio was born on August 1, 1963, in Pennsylvania.

He later moved to Compton, California. There, in 1991, he joined the hip-hop groups WC and Mad Circle.

A few years later, in 1994 he signed with Tommy Boy records and released his debut album ‘It Takes a Theif’.

Starting with a guest spot as himself on “Martin” (1995), Coolio’s credits include the “Dangerous Minds” TV spinoff (1996), “Sabrina the Teenage Witch”, “Batman & Robin”, “The Nanny”, “Tyrone”, “Midnight Mass”, “Charmed”, “Starving”, “Futurama”, and “Gravity Falls”.
